I had the best time taking these photos of the Hansen extended family! They are the sweetest people and I’m so happy I got to know them better.
One of the biggest reasons it was so much fun for me is because Kasey, one of the daughters, was a college roommate of mine! She reached out to me to schedule a session for her family. I was surprised, but honestly SO thrilled at the same time! I follow her on Instagram, which has helped me keep up with her life a little bit since rooming together. Kasey is married now and has the most adorable little boy, Henry. It was so great to see her again and to get to meet her cute family!
Kasey and I were roommates, beginning in late August of one school year. I met my future husband that next January and was married in May, so we didn’t get to room together for a very long time. But I do have one distinct memory of Kasey letting me use her curling iron. We didn’t know each other super well at that point and I was really needing one. It meant a lot to me that she helped me out, and from then on we just had an understanding that we were friends even though we didn’t get to hang out a ton.
We met at Big Springs Park in Provo, Utah for the session, which is an absolutely gorgeous location! It has lots of beautiful, green trees and a super pretty field. It’s the perfect place for family photos!
The session was a total blast, and their family gets along really well which makes my job so much easier! Something unique about the Hansens is that they only have grandsons. It was so fun to see all the boys interact together. I also always LOVE taking photos of grandparents with their grandkids because there’s so much love and it’s great to see those generations together!
I love being an extended family photographer! It’s the BEST!
