Clovis Equine Photography Portrait Session

My favorite part about being an equine photographer is getting to know each horse and human. Each duo brings a new story that I get to capture and share with the world. Clovis is home to me, so it was so fun to have a photography session at my home base.

Abby has had Dorado, a beautiful gray andalusian gelding with a black mane, for about 3 years. She took him in from a bad situation. She has spent years building his confidence back up but he is still weary of new people, hence…me. Thankfully, I was able to bribe him with treats and by the end of the session, we had become friends.

Abby is a beautiful, young, driven horse woman, with 10 years of equine experience. She does a little bit of everything when it comes to horses, mainly in the western disciplines.

We did all the bells and whistles with this equine photography session. We had an outdoor photoshoot, portraits with Dorado and Abby’s dog Kisses, and we even went to the barn for some black background portraits.

The lovely Clovis weather was goofy to say the least. One moment, it was sunny and harsh lighting, the next, cloudy and misty. Thankfully, Dorado and Abby are flexible and can go with the flow.

Please enjoy my favorite shots from this session!
